Landscape and Seascape Photographer
Growing up with an urge to travel and search for new adventures Julian joined the Royal Navy in 1987 as a Junior Seaman Operator (Missile). It was whilst on these travels and during a posting to the Falklands in the early nineties and inspired by the islands rugged beautiful scenery that he developed an interest in amateur photography.
In 2001 he decided to combine photography with his career by joining the Royal Navy Photographic Branch, posted to the Defence School of Photography at RAF Cosford he graduated as a Leading Airman (Photographer) after 7 months of training.
Julian spent the next 15 years carrying out various photographic duties including serving on the Antarctic Survey Vessel HMS Endurance and working in central London covering many high profile military and public events including the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, his final posting was to Commando Helicopter Force based at RNAS Yeovilton in Somerset which saw him carry out many operational tasks across the world including Afghanistan.
On leaving the Navy in 2016 after 29 years service and keen to go back to his photographic grass roots of landscape photography, having spent many happy holidays as a youngster in an around Cromer he decided to spend the next 3 years photographing the Norfolk coastline and surrounding areas.
