The Art House Café
Merlin Waterson, CBE, FSE

Drawing and painting on the spot, often in such remote places as Alaska, Bjutan and Samoa, has been a constant delight. My wood engravings attempt to distill these experiences.
I am the author of books on conservation, social history and philanthropy, including "The Sevant's Hall" (1990) and "The National Trust: the first hundred years" (1994). My degree from King's College Cambridge, is in the History of Art.
Currently I am Chairman of the Society of Wood Engravers, which has just celebrated its centenary.
